Good Game Counselling
Building Skills, Confidence, and Empowering People Through Gaming Counselling
Good Game - Gaming Counselling for Young People
Gaming counselling for young people at Good Game is designed to provide a safe and supportive space where individuals can explore their emotions, develop social skills, and build confidence—all while playing video games. Our registered counsellors specialise in working with neurodivergent youth, predominantly those who are Autistic and ADHD, but our services are open to all young people.
Why Gaming Counselling?
Gaming counselling for young people at Good Game offers a unique approach to therapy that is engaging, interactive, and effective. For neurodivergent youth, gaming can be a valuable tool for developing social skills, practising emotional regulation, and building self-esteem. Our registered counsellors are trained to integrate gaming into counselling sessions in a way that promotes growth and healing. Gaming counselling provides a safe therapy modality for individuals who may struggle to engage in other therapeutic services or traditional talk therapies. Through gameplay and discussion, clients have the opportunity to explore their emotions, develop coping skills, and gain insights into their thoughts and behaviours in a supportive and interactive environment.
How It Works?
In gaming counselling sessions, clients have the opportunity to play video games while receiving therapeutic support from a trained counsellor. Games are chosen by the client, allowing them autonomy and providing a safe space to achieve their therapeutic goals. Through gameplay and discussion, clients learn valuable skills, gain insights into their thoughts and feelings, and develop strategies for coping with challenges in their lives.
Our Gaming Platforms and Games:
We offer counselling sessions online, on various platforms, including PC, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch. From exploring the creative realms of Minecraft to the collaborative adventures of Roblox and the strategic challenges of Fortnite, we provide a diverse range of games to suit different interests and needs. A wide variety of games can be utilised in our therapy sessions. Clients are encouraged to request games based on their preferences and therapeutic goals.
